Council of the Federation Literacy Award 2009 Nomination Form
The Council of the Federation was created by Canada’s Premiers in
2003 because they believe it is important for provinces and
territories to play a leadership role in matters that are important
to all Canadians.
The
Council of the Federation literacy symbol represents achievement in
the promotion of literacy. It incorporates the concepts of literacy,
people and achievement. The symbol depicts the image of a person as
a bright light rising out of the pages of an open book. This conveys
success and celebration. The colour red represents passion and
energy and the colour gold represents success and attainment.
